LS Rowry

This puppet was inspired by LS Lowry, as part of a project that I did in Benchill’s Art group. I thought it would a good idea if he was an old dog, because of the dog picture that he drew. The patterns ofthe foam were custom made, and hot glued together. I then hand stitched fur over the top.

When constructing the body I added a zip to its back to allow me to puppeteer it freely, also this helped keep its shape when it is on display.

I had two latex paw prints made for his front paws by sculpting them out of clay and making a plaster mould from them. Finally his waist was primarily stitched out of off cuts of tartan material which were stitched together.

I was lucky enough to be allowed by the Lowry centre to go down a shoot a short 2 minute film there. I have linked the video below
